Although the 150 million children living on the Third World's streets may be hidden from the public eye, the global economy is always watching with keen interest. In Kitale, Kenya, like countless other towns, many street children have found comfort from their hunger pains by becoming accidental consumers. In sunlit corners, they choke up the little money they have to buy the same glue that the rest of the world uses to hold its shoes together. Only these children are barefoot. With bottles constantly perched at their mouths, they breathe in the toxic fumes until they pass out or fall asleep forever. This is their timely story
